Just call me STEP MOM

Well we finished up the transfer strong and were able to still get about 30 lessons in despite the fact that Hermana Cano got sick and we were out for about 2 days. Not a lot of the new investigators we found last week are progressing, but there is one that is fantastic. Her name is Sandra and a mother of 4 kids. She was a contact we made right before we went home one night. (Work until the last minute my friends.) She isnt married, but does live with her.... pareja... I dont know how to say that. Its the father of her 2 youngest children. Hes not too interested in listening, but hes still kind and doesnt have any problem with Sandra listening. We just started the lessons with her this week, but took a lot of interest in the Book of Mormon and has already read several chapters in 1 Nefi. She has a lot of questions, but very willing to listen to our answers and as it looks so far is very accepting of all we teach. We still havent gotten to the Restoration through Joseph Smith yet, so I think that will be a key point to her conversion.

Cesar is doing well still, although he didnt go to church yesterday. He works in a panaderia (bread shop) and since we got a really big storm and cold front from Hurricane Patricia, he was at work super late because bread is a big thing here I guess when its cold. Its not even like normal bread, its like donuts and "sweet bread". Pretty good though, cant deny that. Anyways, so he got home at 6am Saturday night and didnt make it to church at 9am

Good news though is that he has decided that he feels just about ready to be baptized. We have held off on setting a baptismal date because he has asked us from the beginning for time, and I felt it right to just teach without pushing him and that he would eventually feel the desire whilst we were teaching the doctrine. Well as we finished the Plan of Salvation he brought it up himself and said it is his desire to be baptized because he knows its all true. I wasnt suprised, but it was pretty great because we had decided as a companionship to try and set the date with him that lesson. I was every so slightly nervous because what we are trying to avoid is him feeling pushed, but the Lord´s will, and Cesar´s, was in line and he opened the window for us to talk about a date more formally. He is currently in the process of making a list of the things he needs to do in order to complete the requirements for baptism found in D&C 20:37 and is praying for a specifc date. He is going to tell us tonight what the date is, but he is fairly sure it will be for the end of Novemember.

Unfortantely, I will not be here to "baptize" him because I have been transfered!

I am going to Oceanía, which is still here in Saltillo, but is a different stake and zone. I have been called to train Hermana Trejo. The reason I am her "step mom" and not her "mom" is because she already has one transfer in the mission, so I wont be starting her training, but I will be completing it. She is a sweet heart as far as I could tell when we did splits with her and her companion this last transfer so I think it will be fun. I am a little bummed to be leaving Zarco because I thought I was going to finish my mission here, but I think its with a wise purpose. However, I hope to be able to attend Cesar´s baptism since I will be close.

Now to start my last transfer in the mission.. prayers please! I want to work this area hard!

Love you all,
Hermana Roberts
