August 31

Hello hello,

There isnt too much to report this week, just still chugging a long. I feel good about the work we did this last week and the Lord definitely is helping us. Alicia is still progressing well and is excited for her baptism on the 12th of September!!

One cool experience from this past week was when we were just walking down the street and we passed this guy who basically started at us, and usually we kind of avoid those kind haha, I decided to turn around and contact him. His name is Luis Alejandro and he is a father of 3 boys (has a wife but they arent married) and he only has one leg. He walks EVERYWHERE, but on crutches. Anyways, we contacted him and he was super nice and accepted to have us pass by his house and teach. He was waiting for us when we went the next day and accepted to be baptized within a few weeks.... whoaaaa... he asked us to write down the requirements we had read in Dyc 20 verse 37 so that he could study it. He also committed to go to church. I was actually on splits in another part of Saltillo this day so I didnt really get a feel for it, but Hna.murset was excited but just said we would see if he actually went to church. Sunday comes around and we were focused on alicia and another invesitador who went to church, so we werent even thinking about him. But when we get to the church, there he is sitting on the curb waiting for us! He said he came to tell us he didnt think he could keep listening because another brother from a different church was also visiting his family and he told him to stop listening to us. Hna.murset was like "well you are already here, how about you just come in for the first our as a trial". He readily agreed and accompanied us for sacrament. He seemed to enjoy it and agreed to have us visit later in the afternoon.
When we passed by we taught his whole family and after some discussion they decided that they will try out our church instead of the one they are currently going to because what will it hurt. His wife was super cool and was like "look Luis, you havent ever paid ANY attention to the other brother until these two missionaries showed up... its for a reason! and you walked all the way to the church this morning, leaving a 730 to get there on time!". She doesnt seem AS intereted as him, but she IS interested in him listening to us. Hes a super alcoholic and they all want him to stop drinking.

Love you all!
