Travelling Sister
I dont really know how to start my letters anymore cause I always say the same thing haha... entonces...
Hola Family!!
Mmm not too much to report. Just working and trying to stay awake in the lessons in this heat. Haha mostly exaggerating but after lunch in this heat... listening to someone tell you a really long story... it gets hard, ya know?
I only work about half the time in my own area now. We go on splits twice a week and the are each for about a day and a half so it gets kind of crazy sometimes. I have been leaving to work in the other sister´s area every time because I still dont know our own area well enough to direct it with someone how does know it at all, so I have basically been a traveling missionary. I love working with Hna. Walsh and we are a good team, just sad we are only together like half the time haha. But its been a good experience to get to know other sisters and try to help them improve and find what is keeping them from having more success.
A funny experience from the past week is that Hna. Walsh (also very blonde) and I got on a bus, but we sat next to other people. I started talking to the lady next to me and there was this little boy sitting in front of me (and at Hna. Walsh´s side). He was just STARING at me in amazment and Hna. Walsh turns to him and was like "Weird right? Shes speaking spanish... but shes SOOO blonde". He turned to look at her and his jaw dropped once he saw her hahahah and then quickly turned away to look out the window.
The only other thing I can think of to tell yall is... do you remember when I wrote months ago about this older lady named Maria del Carmen that lived basically in a cardboard house/hut thing in a middle of a bunch of trash? I was on splits, back then as the normal missionary, and we invited her to baptized. It was her first lesson and she accepted. I told yall about it cause it was just a really cool experience but then said I would probably never know what happened with her cause she wasnt in my area and all that jazz? Well, thats my area now, and she was baptized the week before I got here! Shes great!!! She works all week to save up 8 pesos (like 60 american cents) to get to church on Sunday and says if she cant shes just walk. Shes older and only has flip flops or crocs for shoes. Anyways, shes great and loves the church. Looks like I did find out about her!
Weve got some progressing investigators but I{ll wait to update on them in another occasion. I havent seen them much this past week cause I have been in other areas.
We are in the center of Saltillo right now so I am going to go see if I can find some really sweet Mexican stuff to buy. :)
Love you lots! Have a good week.
