5 Investigators at Church

Alright Fam fam, whats the 411?

Wellllllllllllllllll Angel is a rock star and doing great getting ready for his baptism. I love that he comes to church in white shirt and tie and honestly just is glowing. We hardly have to do anything with him, he{s just great. Huge transformation in such little time. One of the other young men told me the other day Angel even explained a scripture in Sunday school so I am pretty proud of him. His baptism is 11 days away!

BUT GUESS WHAT!? We had 5 INVESTIGATORS IN CHURCH YESTERDAY!! Oh my gosh talk about clouddddd 9. And I give the members a gold star because so many people greeted them and made them feel welcome. Mere (as usual), Angel, and my favorite family!!! Jorge still didnt want to come, but Juany finally decided she would just go without him because she really wants to, and their two sons Jonathan (18) and Geronimo (13) wanted to go too, so the three of them came together! It was sooooo great and they all seemed to have a good experience. We havent talked to them much about it yet, but well go back this week to continue with the lessons. I seriously LOVE this family.

Oscar is still in the works. He has almost too many doubts to have faith. Its kind of sad. We tried to just convince him to start with a clean slate and forget all the things he had been reading and studying and just ASK with faith. He wants to, he just cant seem to get himself out of this trap he{s putting himself in. I cant figure out how to help him out either cause its honestly a trap that can only be opened from the inside.

Another super awesome investigator that we have is Pedro (yes, another Pedro) and he is a doctor. We met him when my companion got sick her first week and we went to have her checked out. When we went to leave he was like "dont you have a brochure or something for me?" and I was a total failure missionary cause I didnt have any with me... but we went back a few days later and he actually sincerely wanted to learn about the church. I thought he was just being sarcastic becuase we are missionaries, but no, he is totally embracing the gospel!! He is going through some really rough stuff right now and has been taking refuge in working a lot so that he doesnt have to think about his problems, but he is like "Its just to forget, but I am looking for peace, not just to forget. Everytime you come I feel that peace." The next time we came back he had read the pamphlet about the restoration and could basically recite it to me and so we gave him the Book of Mormon which he is now reading. The next time we went back he was like "I think I just need to learn more about Joseph Smith because I just dont know yet, and I think thats what I am lacking", but we told him he is lacking an answer, not more knowledge. He was like "you{re so right... I am lacking the feeling" and just sat there and pondered. He promised to pray and we didnt even ask him to give the closing prayer, he just was like "I will give the closing prayer" and just like poured out his heart. He is so awesomeeeeee. My heart is so warm everytime we visit him and I cant adequately express his sincerety in wanting to know the truth and how much he sees it in us. I wish I could just take a look through his eyes and feel with his heart to understand what it is he is experiencing with us. We are the Lords instruments, I just wonder what its like to be the investigator.

Things are progressing with my greenie! Lots of bumps and bruises haha and definitely not only on her part. We all have our agency and our own consequences and we are learning together. But she is a great companion and I look forward to improving in so many aspects with her. I pray the Spirit is my guide ALWAYS and know that without my Savior, I am nothing. But with Him, I am everything. Please everything, read your scriptures EVERY DAY. How do we not recognize that the answers to EVERYTHING are in the scriptures and in our personal revelation through prayer?
