Zarco!

Fam,

Here I am in Zarco, Saltillo! Its right in the center of Saltillo and even though Ramos isnt all that far away, its verryyyyyy different!! This area is EVEN MORE like what I expected my mission to be like. Its very humble and the houses are very authentic Mexican looking. Small and concrete and lots of colors. My area is right up against the mountains (Saltillo sits at the base of the mountains) and so its a really up and down hilly area (whoooo exercise!!), but you can see into the valley and its really prettttty. I attached one picture where you can kind of tell, but not really. So you can see just pueblos and pueblos and its quite the view. Especially with all the mountains around us. My area really big and so I am having to adjust to that (Manantailes was a litle smaller) and I have been pretty tired this week, but all is well. Its a different feel here than Manantiales and so its weird feeling, plus I havent been the junior companion since my 2 transfer in the mission, soooo that adds to it. I feel slightly useless cause I dont know the area and I dont the people still so I just do what Hna.Walsh plans (also pretty relaxing) but all is well. I already have a good idea of the layout of the area and have gotten to know a good handful of people so soon it should pick up. I am a pretty quick learner and as you all know, I push myself a lot, so I probably wont be in the dark for long haha. Its just a strange feeling. Plus we are in a trio companionship so that elimiates some responsibility too. But we start splits this week so things will probably get busier and more stressful pretty quick.

Just to kind of give an idea of how the church is here, there are 3 stakes here in Saltillo. They are called Valle de los Flores, Miravalle, and Republica. The stake Republica included Ramos Arzipe (Ramos is its own city) and thats pretty much here. In my new ward the attendance is about 50-60 people every week and I think thats realitvely the same for the other wards too.

I really like our house here cause its also very Mexican mission feeling. I know thats probably super vague, but its just more of what I was expecting. Its a humble home and killing huge and fast cockroaches is common place. Plus we wake up to roosters and all that jazz. I like it though :).

Have a great week family!!
