First Mission Council

Another week in Zarco..

Things are good!! I only have like 5 minutes left so.... sorry. This week my companion Hermana Tah went home to Cancun which was super sad, but its good cause she will be able to recover her health. And now I have somewhere to crash when I take a trip to the beach ;).

We also had Mission Council this week which was my first and it was superrrr sweet. We had some really great training I was definitely inspired.
The work is progressing and we hope to help our investigadores progress as well this week. We have a fantasticccccc investigador named Leobarda who is doing great. She has been smoking for 45 years and wants more than anything to stop, and she is taking hold of the Gospel. She was smoking 12 cigarettes a day when we met here and just in a few weeks she is down to 6 a day. Prayers for her and her husband (once they get married...) who is also now listening too.

Something I read this morning and really loved from the general conference talk given by Elder Christofferson "Why Marriage, Why Family" is the following:

"By our choices we would demonstrate to God (and to ourselves) our commitment and capacity to live His celestial law while outside His presence and n a physical body with all its powers, appetites, and passions. Could we bridle the flesh so that it became the instrumnent rather than the master of spirit? Would we be trusted both in time and eternity with godly powers, including power to create life? Would we individually overcome evil?"

Have you ever thought about your body this way? It is something you did not have before, and now have, and it comes with POWER. Now what are you going to do with that power. Allow it to consume you, or use the guidance given by God and have it exalt you? "Those who did would ¨have glory added upon their heads for ever and ever¨- a very significant aspect of that glory being a resurrected, imoortal, and gloried physical body. No wonder we "shouted for joy" at these magnificent possibilities and promises.

Things are busy and good. I am content and loving the work!! Have a fantastic week!!

Con amor,
Hermana Roberts
