¿Qué cree? ¡¡Jonathan se bautizó!!!!!
HELLO FAMILY!!
Well I have lots I want to tell you about this week!! First off... JONATHAN GOT BAPTIZED ON SATURDAY!!!
Bet
you werent all expecting that...... *insert sly smiling emoji that is
only on the iphone which i dont have*. I AM SO HAPPY!!
It
started with last Monday. We had a lesson with him in the evening to
practice the piano and we planned to talk to him about baptism
afterwards. It was more of a conversation between all of us because he
basically is just our friend now and so he super opened up about his
thoughts and such. We were direct and it was SO SWEET because I was able
to feel the chain of questions that need to be asked to get him
committed. In final I asked him why he had stopped smoking. Why did he
do it? He replied so that he could get baptized. And so I was like
"Well, you{ve stopped smoking so.... now what?" and after thinking for a
second he was like "baptism". We just let his answer sit there and then
I asked him to be baptized on Saturday.
He didnt say anything and the four of us (my companion and I, him, and a
member his age) sat in silence for what my companion exaggerates as 5
minutes. It probably was like a minute or two though. He would look at
me and just smile, but he finally answered, with a smile still, that he
would be baptized on saturday.
IT WAS SO AWESOME. I tried to hold it together, but my companion and I
were on cloud 9. Isaí, the member, was pretty excited too. He leaves for
his mission today so it was a really cool experience for him to see a
lesson like that right before he left.
The
whole week Jonathan was just smiling and ready to be baptized. I have
seen the conversion in him that a missionary hopes to see. I sure love
him. I remember Mark talking about how Robert was that person on his
mission that he felt he was supposed to find and teach. Jonathan is that
person for me. Maybe I will meet someone else too, but Jonathan is my
person. I love him so much and I feel absolutely WONDERFUL that he made
the decision to be baptized. He is.. oh my gosh I just am so happy for
him. I cant express it.
I wanted to cry when he was baptized. He was confirmed on Sunday and nothing but happiness that kid. I JUST LOVE HIM. There are no other words.
Well,
there you have in folks. There isnt much else to talk about here cause I
just told you about the best thing that has happened on my mission.
Finding, teaching, helping, praying for, feeling the Spirit, and seeing
someone that you were sent to teach baptized and confirmed a member of
the only and true church. Next week he will recieve the priesthood.
Alright,
update on the other people too :). Angel didnt talk to him parents this
week because his mom has been acting really really weird toward him and
hes super afraid to talk to her about it. In our lesson he was just
like SUPER SAD the whole time and then at the end of the lesson he broke
down into tears. So strong this kid. Hes going to try to talk to his
parents this week.
The inactive family came to church again this week!! The whole family!! Theyre doing well.. not too much to update about them.
But a super awesome moment this week was on Friday
night in the church. It was just an "I´ve done my job" moment. We were
there at the church and I was chatting with Juany (Jonathans mom that
was baptized a month ago) in the foyer while Jonathan was being
interviewed for his baptism, when a bunch of the youth walk by (it was
mutual). Geronimo, Angel, and the daughter of the inactive family all
walk by with smiles on their faces... 3 youth I helped find the church
walked by with smiles on their faces, while I am talking to someone else
I taught that got baptized, and waiting for someone else I taught be
interviewed. It was and AWESOME MOMENT.
Well...
thats the update! Not all the moments are great, but it was a rewarding
week I guess you could say. We kind of are empty nested now haha but
woooooooooooooo.
Love you all!! I attached pictures.
Con mucho amor,
Hermana Roberts
