¿QUE TAL?
Family, it was a FABULOUS week.. even though I feel like we didnt have that much success. I feel like we walked a lot this week. Just from house to house trying to find all the people we were previously teaching yata yata yata and yeah, thats pretty much how it went... BUT no complaints because so many MIRACLES are happening. Like I feel like I am going to BURST right now with how much the Lord is blessing me.
First, JORGE WAS BAPTIZED!!! Hes the husband/father of my 3 converts (Juani, Jonathan, y Gero) in Sabinas. I attached the picture the current sisters there sent to me. This is what the email from the sister said
"Congratulations, hermana!!! He got baptized. He is veryveryveryvery happy! You should have seen how proud he was and how happy. After his baptism I heard him say to Hna. Juani "I'm clean!!!" I will send your love to them! " CAN YALL BELIEVE IT!! I almost dont. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh now they can work towards being sealed in the temple in a year. I AM SO HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!! You BET I will be going to that sealing. They already told me that I am considered family and I seriously felt like they became my family while I was there in Sabinas. I felt at home with them. Floods of memories are coming back... :)).
Other great news is............. LUCIA AND MELANY will be getting baptized on the 19th of this month!! They are progressing fantastically!!! They went to church again this week and they are amazing. She is just taking hold of the gospel and she is so ready to make convenants with the Lord. More than anyone I have ever met. We already had a date for the 27th because they want to be baptized and are fulfilling all of their compromises (but need 4 times in church before the baptism) but in my interview with President this week I told him about her and he said that if they keep progressing like this to just call him and he will without hestiation grant permission for them to be baptized sooner so that I will be present in their baptism. (the 27th is the week after transfers... and he told me I am leaving Manantiales sooooo). We talked to Lucia about it and she was like "yeah of course we can move it up, I feel prepared now". She really is.. we discussed convenants and what it means and she is SO prepared. And Melany is too. Shes 9 and reading the Book of Mormon (she was SO EXCITED when we gave her her own copy this week). Her two older sons are showing a lot of interest too, but they havent been in all the lessons nor have gone to church, so pray they will progress. Lucia says they have been reading the Book of Mormon too though and want to go, they just are a little shy I think.
A special moment with them this week was that we were at church, waiting for them to arrive before sacrament meeting, and they werent showing up. I was starting to get nervous because it was time to start (and we started like 15 minutes late) and they still werent there. We went in and were sitting there and I was starting to feel upset.. 5 more minutes... the bishopbric welcomed them and they still hadnt arrived.. 5 more mintues... I was like "seriously... after President gave me permission to move their baptismal date up gave they are so ready.. and now they arent here!". But I decided to just say a prayer and told the Lord I still had faith. I was sorry I was upset and still had faith they would get there. Not 2 minutes later, they walk in. Dressed nice and beautiful. I said a prayer of thanks and was just really grateful I had demonstrated my faith before the Lord manifested the blessings. (They had just missed the bus and apparently on Sundays they dont pass as frequently so that had to wait a while for the next one).
Ceci (the 9 year old who was baptized a few weeks ago) is still doing well, but her parents still havent gotten to church. There always seem to be obstacles and their faith just isnt strong enough to recognize they have to push through it and go. But we made an appointment to go with her this Friday to the Self-Sufficiency Center that the church has in our stake center to help her find a new job. We hope that all goes. I attached a picture from Ceci´s baptism!
We are still working with Yuriana, Daniel, and Angel, AND this week we were able to work with Luis because he was home. We got TWO lessons in with him... themes that were really importance too. Their family seriously is so much better off when he is home. The kids are so much more obedient and their is just a different feeling in their home. We were actually have to have successul lessons with the whole family for once. I wish he could see the difference.
Mmm lastly, we had interviews with President Rodriguez this week like I previously mentioned. It was one of the most rewarding conversations I have had here in my mission. He is really a great president and I love rubbing shoulders with him. I have been able to develop more of a relationship with him and he had some really nice things to say about me which was great to hear. The Lord is starting to POUR the blessings on me. I have had some rough parts of my mission and feel like I have worked really hard (with much improvement still to be made) but He}s really helping me see the fruits of my labors.
Keep the faith!! Have a great week. Preach the Gospel!! I love you all!
Con amor,
