Splits & Rain
Hello from Ramos!!
Hows it going fam?
This week it rained a lot. One day we were literally walking through rivers in the street. I really like rain... but as a walking missionary... not so much.
A few exciting things happened this week, I guess you could say.
We went on splits with the Sister Training Leaders and that went really really well!! They were really pleased with what we are doing and how things are going and they didnt have anything bad to say. One of them is Hermana Walsh, who is basically like my best friend here in the mission, so that was fun too. I didnt go on splits with her, but none the less, its a lot less stressful when you are doing it with your friends. I learned a lot from the other Hermana too, Hermana Morales.
On Thursday we had interviews with President Rodriguez which was GREAT!! I just really like him. My interview was really good and we were able to have a really good conversation about my progress and my concerns. He told me he has seen me grow a lot and he considers me a consecrated missionary. He gave me some great advice and shared scriptures with me for things I want to improve, like how I can love and appreciate my mission more. He told me has seen me become humble, which really pleased me. Unfortunately that means I was really prideful... but hahah thats something I already figured out since being here on my mission. I really was prideful. and I still have a lot to work out, but it made me happy to hear President say that he sees it, especially since he isnt with me very often, its something that he can see in my countenance.
Maria is progressing great!! We took her to the visitor´s center here in Saltillo (its just in the stake center and really small, but nice none the less) and she really enjoyed it. She went to church again and Edwin, her son, went too, as well as her other little daughter and her two grandkids. They all love the church and all want to be baptized.
We challenged her with a baptismal date, and she said she doesnt feel ready for a date, but she said she is for sure going to get baptized. She was like "I AM going to be baptized.". It was AWESOME because we didnt push her for much, but she just right out said it and then basically bore testimony to her son about what baptism really means. That it means you are truly going to be a disciple of Christ and change your life. It means that one you are baptized, you will do everything in your power to be the most righteous possible. It wasnt prompted by us or anything, she just said all this to her son because he accepted the baptismal date.
I ask for prayers for them. We still havent found Maria´s biggest challenge. Shes accepting everything and we are wondering what its going to be... but she really wants her husband to listen and come to church too and hes indifferent. So prayers for him!! Also, Edwin has some behvior problems so prayers for him too please!!
The Hernandez family is still in the same state, just waiting for their papers to arrive.
all is well here!! Has the package I sent arrived?
LOVE YOU ALLLLLLL
Hermana Roberts
