Splits and Sleep Talking

Fam fam bam bam,

Alright this is going to be short sorry and I didnt even get to reply personally to mom and dads letters.. sorry.. but its been a pretty good week I guess.

Honestly nothing really to report. I have had some disappointments this week, but nothing really that I can complain about at this moment cause it just happens, you know. 

2 things I will comment on is that the inactive family that I have been teaching are now active and the dad, after receving the priesthood last week, baptized his son yesterday. It was a neet experience and the missionary that originally taught the family sent a video to congratulate them and it was really special. Its nice to know that I am helping them find the gospel again. they are really content and the Mom is asking for us to teach certain themes in our lessons. Shes like "when you come this week i want you to teach us about fasting". Its really sweet. This week i helped her hand wash their clothes on the wash board and everything because she hurt her wrist doing it. I kind of made her let me help cause shes only going to hurt it more...

We also went on splits this week and Hermana Walsh, my basically best friend in the mission, came and worked with me here in Sabinas. It was SUPER fun because even though she is my leader, I felt like we were just working together ask friends. It seriously was the best. She was also able to help me out with a lot of things and give me some really great advice. It was so nice to have a day to just speak english and tell stories and express yourself completely. We had a good time.

While on splits we contacting one guy and when we finished another guy approached me to just tell me that my spanish is really good. that was nice.Hahahaha also when Hna. Walsh was with me, she woke me up in the middle of the night because I was snoring... no judging..Ive had a bad head cold.. haha... and I was speaking to her in spanish. She was like "Hermana Roberts... why are you talking to me in spanish? I SPEAK ENGLISH!" and I had to pay close attention to realize i wasnt speaking in english. Its actually embarassing at how much I struggle to say some things in english now too.. I just say things weird. My companion told me I was sleep talking in spanish last night too. I guess you could say Ive progressed haha. Still lots to learn but hey, thats something.

Well yep.. gots to run and theres not too much to say anyways. One more week in the change and next monday I should have news about where I am going. I really hope to be going haha.. I am ready for a new chapter in my mission. Lots of struggles, learning, and success here, but its time to start new. I am starting to feel a little trunky because I am bored so.. lets pray for a good change :).

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY!! (in Mexico.. clearly) Well what a week... it unfortunately was not very successful... haha but because I took a suprise trip to Saltillo in the middle of the week.... ALONE!!! We were studying one morning and I was getting all pumped to get out and start working and I was feeling good and we had great plans for the day when all of a sudden the mission office calls and told me I had to take care of stuff for my Visa and come to Saltillo.. in like 2 hours. So yeah, and they sent me alone. So this week I conquered the fear of traveling through Mexico as an American muchacha who is still learning spanish... alone. But hey, I did it, and nothing bad happened. And I even got to Saltillo and got a taxi and traveled through the city and made phone calls (in spanish thank you) and got things taken care of. BAM! Travelling Sister

I dont really know how to start my letters anymore cause I always say the same thing haha... entonces... Hola Family!! Mmm not too much to report. Just working and trying to stay awake in the lessons in this heat. Haha mostly exaggerating but after lunch in this heat... listening to someone tell you a really long story... it gets hard, ya know? I only work about half the time in my own area now. We go on splits twice a week and the are each for about a day and a half so it gets kind of crazy sometimes. I have been leaving to work in the other sister´s area every time because I still dont know our own area well enough to direct it with someone how does know it at all, so I have basically been a traveling missionary. I love working with Hna. Walsh and we are a good team, just sad we are only together like half the time haha. But its been a good experience to get to know other sisters and try to help them improve and find what is keeping them from having more success.  A...

Rosi & Fransisco

Hello hello!! This week we saw our new investigators, Rosi and Fransisco  on Monday  night and challenged them to be baptized with a specific date. They.... turned it down... hahaha but only because its for like a week from now. They have to have 5 weeks in church before they can be baptized, but they already had a few in the states, so we went ahead and challenged them. They said they want to be baptized, but they want to learn more first and everything and 2 weeks didnt seem sufficient haha. I couldnt blame them. We didnt get to seem them again during the week (they are VERY busy for an elderly couple) and unfortunately they didnt make it to church  on Sunday  which was basically devestating, right? But we passed by in the evening to see why they didnt go, and they werent home. Their adult son greeted us and let us know that they suddenly had to take a trip to Monterrey and he was their caring for their house. So we´ll see whats up. But they are super cute....
