Ramos Arizpe

HOLA HOLA

I am now in my new area!!! Manantiales in Ramos Arizpe and lets just start of by saying I LOVE ITTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT. I love everything about my new area and my companion and everything. I seriously am so content.

First the area... my area is actually really small and only consists of a few colonies, but its super cute and the streets are windy and close together and there are a fair amount of people outside. There are a bunch of little broken down parks and walls full of grafitti and its just super cute. I really love it. Right now I am trying to steal a section of the Elder´s area to make ours bigger and I dont think they are all that stoked about it, but the Bishop seems to be on our side cause he can see we are working hard and so.... yeah. I am really close to Saltillo because Ramos Arizpe is just outside of it and I dont know... its just feels super awesome. Its a completely different feel and environment from what it was up in the north and I really like it. The mountains surround us and we actually live close to one set of mountains that we are trying to get permission to go hike. I HAVE SO MUCH GANAS TO GO HIKE THE MOUNTAINS. For all who know me well know that I loveeeeeee the mountains and I love to be in them even more. There are some areas where we can see into downtown Saltillo with all the colonies and everything and its super pretty so I can only imagine what the view is going to be like from the mountains.

I am in a ward now which is super weird, but it actually is has smaller attendance than my branch in Sabinas. But the leadership is stronger and I feel like we have a better support system here than I did in Sabinas. That makes me super happy too because it was hard to work somewhere where the church is weak. I was happy to help build it up and strengthen it cause thats my purpose, but its also heartbreaking and feels weird cause it just feels different than the church in the States. Anyways, point is, it seems to be stronger here in Saltillo, although still small in comparison to the states, and so it just feels good.

Today we went and shopped in a kind of dirt mall and it was super fun. I am going to bring yall here when you come to pick me up cause its just super Mexicany and fun. I bought a coconut drink and some home made corn bread that was soooooooooooooo good (Hayley... my name is Hayley Cornbread Vogelsberg). They were selling fresh fruits like strawberries, mangos, and coconut and also fried pig products that I think are disgusting but everyone loves, and a bunch of traditional stuff. They also sell clothes SUPER cheap so that always fun. Its here every week.

Okay.. my companion!! Her name is Hermana Tah and she is from CANCUN!! Sweeeeeeeet right??? She is seriously THE GREATEST!! I honestly know she is an answer to my prayers and I love her so much. We have already become friends in just this week and weve already had some drop the floor laughing experiences. She is an AWESOME missionary and again, an answer to my prayers, because I have just wanted someone who wants to work as much as I do. But we have a similar way of doing things and I dont feel like I have to watch everything I do with her. We just understand eachother.

As a summary of this week, I am really happy. Is everything perfect.. of course not. The previous elders left the house disgusting and we have been cleaning like crazy. We dont have a washer and dryer and my arms hurt from washing my clothes on a washboard in the back of our house for like 2 hours this afternoon. De hecho, it was fun. I hated it in the moment, but I also loved it. Do we have a ton of work? Not necesarily, but there is an awesome family soon to be baptized as well as a few other investigators that have potential and we have a lot of references from members. The point is, I am finally serving the mission I imagined I would serve. Maybe it was only this week, who knows, but this pieces have just finally fallen together and I picture myself as the missionary I was expecting to be. And I love it.

I ask for continual prayers for my growth as a teacher and our success as a companionship. Also for the health of my companion cause she is struggling with a few things that are threatening to send her home and that is literally the very last thing I want right now cause I love working with her and she is a such a great missionary. But as of right now, all is well! It isnt impeding us at all.

Well I hope all is well at home.. I miss you all like CRAZY!! As always.

Con much amor,
Hermana Roberts
