HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY!! (in Mexico.. clearly)

Well what a week... it unfortunately was not very successful... haha but because I took a suprise trip to Saltillo in the middle of the week.... ALONE!!! We were studying one morning and I was getting all pumped to get out and start working and I was feeling good and we had great plans for the day when all of a sudden the mission office calls and told me I had to take care of stuff for my Visa and come to Saltillo.. in like 2 hours. So yeah, and they sent me alone. So this week I conquered the fear of traveling through Mexico as an American muchacha who is still learning spanish... alone. But hey, I did it, and nothing bad happened. And I even got to Saltillo and got a taxi and traveled through the city and made phone calls (in spanish thank you) and got things taken care of. BAM! Clearly they trust me or something because apparently that never happens (sending a sister without her companion... none the less a American newbie). So yeah. But that took two days cause Saltillo is 5 hours away so by the time I got back we were totally out of wack. Hermana Barnard worked in another area with other sisters so all our plans fell through and the rest of the week was just not that great. But we{re planning on hitting the ground running this week and I am feeling a lot of responsibility right now, for several reason I wont go into detail about, so I am a little nervous, but all is well. I know I have been called of God and he is helping me, even though most of the time I am not thinking about it.

Dad, update on Pedro.. since coming to Sabinas I have only heard that he has continued to go to church and so as far as I know he is doing well. Which makes me so happy!! 

Javier.. well my heart broke this week. He basically has a testimony of the Book of Mormon and the church and everything, but after a couple experiences with the members, including NO ONE SPEAKING TO HIM AT CHURCH LAST WEEK, he is refusing to return. The thing he was looking for was fellowship, and the members failed. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE find the investigators in the church and fellowship them. I BEG OF YOU. He felt better after our lesson and we are going to continue to teach him, but as of now going to church is out of the question.. which means so is bapstim.. and unfortunately his salvation.. kind of serious. We hope and pray his heart is softened and something changes as he continues to read the Book of the Mormon because wow, he wants this gospel. 

Mere y Enrique... the divorce is kind of at a hault. Hermana Barnard is pretty frustrated about it and there isnt really anything else we can do, so we are kind of at a loss with them. Enrique has one more week to get things under wrap or Mere is kicking him out so that she can fully live the law of chastity and get baptized. I hope she actually does it, but more, we hope and pray Enrique gets everything taken care of cause they really do love eachother.

And DUN DUN DUN.. my favorite experience this week, which actually happened only an hour or so ago. We contacted a lady outside her house this week who declared her love for Jesus to us and then let us come in. Turns out she LOVES english and has been studying it for years so we speak in English so that she can practice... although we always switch back into spanish after a while cause its easier haha. Im kind of at the point where thats fine cause I fully particpate now. We asked her if she had ever heard about the Book of Mormon and she said SHE HAS ONE. Years ago some missionaries gave it to her but she said she doesnt need anything but the Bible and so she never read it. I told her that its ANOTHER testament of Christ and she literally stopped in her tracks and her eyes were HUGE and she was like "theres ANOTHER testament of Christ... why didnt those missionaries tell me!!" hahaha and so we taught her the whole first lesson this morning and never before have I experienced someone LITERALLY have a jaw dropping experience as they learn about the Book of Mormon. Her expressions are the BEST!! She was BEAMING when she found the Book of Mormon. She has some challenges that we are going to have to work around in the way of her previous faith, and she doesnt really realize whats about to hit her, but she has found the truth and I am confident if she lets herself, she will be converted. The Book of Mormon works miracles because it is the truth and she is beaming. She is the sweetest lady. I love her already. I literally was smiling so big teaching her just becuase I love her and I love this gospel.

Well I have my own challenges, as well as my companion, and we are BEYOND perfect and I continuously need all of your prayers so please continue! But depsite how not everything always works out and things are hard and I miss yall, this is worth it. I look forward to the future in this work. Pleaseeeeee become a part of it.. especially in helping the missionaries in your ward!!! We cant do this work alone.
