First Week

Hola everyone! I have officially finished my first week in the MTC, and wow.. has it really been only a week?? Being in NJ with Danielle and last wednesday doesn't feel like it was that long ago, and yet I feel like so much has happened since then. I was dropped off by Celeste and Eli, and then rushed around the MTC with no idea what was going on. I am on the west campus (living at Wyview.. strange, since I used to live there, and classes at Raintree. We are at Raintree in classes like ALL day.) A typical day is up at 6:30 , breakfast at 7:15 , class for 3 hrs where mi miestros (teachers) speak absolutely nothing but Spanish. It was overwhelming the first day haha, but I got used to it and now I don't even notice most of the time that he's speaking in another language. Learning Spanish is HARD... some days are better than others. I know the Lord his helping me and that the Gift of Tongues is real because there is no way I could know as much as I do a...

One day I climbed Mt. Olympus. It was an unbelievable, long, hard and exhausting journey for me. Later that day, I attended an early evening meeting at our chapel. Every muscle in my body ached. I could hardly walk. My face was sunburned. After that meeting, I went out and looked up at Mt. Olympus. It looked different now that I knew I had been to the top. I was so deeply proud of what I had done. I sensed then that a man was standing at my side. He asked, "What are you looking at?" I said, "Mt. Olympus." Then, in an almost bragging way, I said, "I've been to the top of that today." He said, "Oh, really! That's great." Then he added, "I've been up there eighteen times." "Eighteen times," I said.
